CADENCE — MAKE IT FLOW

START
Open a piece in Library → Practise this piece. Choose a reviewed 1–8-bar
phrase and an opening tempo you would like to reach comfortably. Play the
opening pass, then choose Make it flow in the practice panel. Existing saved
sessions can use it during their Focus step or after More supported practice.
The full score stays visible; only the loop is highlighted.

JOINS
Cadence offers a loop containing the bars on both sides of a barline. It ranks
a join when the opening showed a late, early, missing or different first
entrance. Why this join? explains the observation. It does not infer fingering,
hand position or physical technique. Complete ties may expand a loop beyond
two bars. The Passage selector also offers the whole opening phrase. A one-bar
opening can still use tempo and support practice, but has no internal barline.
This version uses complete regular bars; choose a phrase after any pickup.
Arbitrary beat-length loops are not added.

TEMPO AND SUPPORT
Choose the exercise, tempo, click and one or three passes. Either-hand piano
practice can retain Cadence’s partner part or turn it off. Both-hand and rhythm
practice have no partner. Each loop has a fresh full-bar count-in and saves
separately. Settings stay fixed during a pass and throughout requested loops.

After two consecutive comparable completed attempts within 24 hours, Cadence
may offer five bpm more, five bpm less, or less support. It counts entrances
rather than chord size. At least 80% on-time entrances in each pass, with at
most one extra press, can suggest an increase. Repeated results below 60%, or
more than two extra presses, can suggest slowing down. These are transparent
practice rules, not calibrated proficiency estimates. Mixed results invite
another pass or a different join. Callback-arrival MIDI timing and changed
calibration offsets cannot justify a tempo recommendation.

Tempo ranges from 40 bpm to your chosen opening tempo. At the opening tempo,
steady one-hand attempts may suggest removing the partner. The click then
moves through every beat, each bar’s first beat, alternate bar starts, and
count-in only. With alternate bar starts, the intervening bar has no click.
The original full-bar count-in always remains. You can choose any setting
without earning it, and every suggested change needs your action.

RETURN AND LISTEN
Choose Back into the phrase when ready. For two-staff piano, make at least one
both-hand focus attempt first. The return restores the surrounding phrase and
opening tempo, with partner and click off. Your piano take is saved for Shape
the phrase. Listen, compare takes with the same source and support conditions,
and leave an optional reflection about how it felt. This reflection does not
alter the review schedule. The independent delayed return remains separate.

SAVING AND SCOPE
Join selection, tempo and support survive relaunch. Results retain the exact
source and support used; changing a join does not rewrite an older take. Failed
saves keep a pending pass in memory for retry, and source edits block applying
it to different music. Practice format 12 migrates older data and protects it
from older writers. Quit an older Cadence before opening this release.

Uses the existing MIDI pitch/entrance assessment in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4, for one
staff or a supported two-staff piano part. This release does not add guitar
microphone assessment, compound metre, technique grading or a live software
piano monitor. Use your piano’s own tone. Physical FP-10 testing remains pending.
